Social Media is Number One

According to HubSpot “Not Another State of Marketing Report 2021” research findings of 1500 global marketers, social media is now the number one in marketing products and services.

This Report shows that personalised social media conversations are the preferred way for fostering community awareness, brand building, engaging and rapport building with customers.

When asked how confident these 1500 marketers were that their website is helping you reach your marketing goals, 83% of respondents are either ‘very confident’ or ‘somewhat confident’. This Report also indicated that 82% used social media marketing, 13% did not and 5% were unsure.

Hence businesses cannot afford to ignore social media or website development as part of their marketing mix.

Small to medium size companies should be active in two-three networks to distribute their content marketing assets in a focused way.

In January 2021, 20.5 million Australians, were active users of social media- about 79.9% of the Australian population has social media accounts.

Australians spend an average of 1 hour 48 minutes per day on social media, over the 12 months October 2020—2021. About 52% of Australians use social media as a source of news.

The five most used social media sites used in Australia in December 2021 were Facebook 82%, YouTube 64%, Instagram 48%, LinkedIn 31% and Twitter 28%.

Now more than ever, small business leaders are using social media to promote their products, build their brand, gain credibility and visibility to stay viable in the current competitive environment.
